This house was designed with an open-concept floor plan that included the primary suite, a secondary bedroom, two baths and all the amenities on the main level. The task of creating multi-generational living space was presented to us by a client/couple relocating to the Pittsburgh area from the West Coast and wanting to bring their mother (in-law) – from Texas – closer to them to live with them full time. The clients agreed that they wanted to be close to each other but also have truly separate spaces for their different lifestyles.

Today’s home concept has changed the way we think of traditional. This 2-story home perched above the winding roads of Cecil, PA combines the essence of traditional with the sleekness of modern comfort. Soaring high ceilings, a modern appointed kitchen, and lofty hallways overlook a spectacular in-ground swimming pool with impeccable landscapes.
Two-Story Transitional | Houston, PA
This single-family home was built in a pre-existing neighborhood in Houston, PA (in Washington County). This four-bedroom home was designed for a young, growing family, and includes an open floor plan, a large breakfast bar in the kitchen, great room, formal dining room, first-floor master suite, three-car garage, basement and a secret kids’ room.
Suburban Spec House | Upper St. Clair
This spec house was built on a lot that was repurposed when the original home fell into disrepair. Located in Upper St. Clair Township, southwest of Pittsburgh, this home is situated in a premier community with great schools, convenient shopping and easy access to I-79.
This four-bedroom home features a private, shared driveway, three-car garage and a generous covered wrap-around porch and deck. The open floor plan includes a kitchen island with a breakfast counter, a great room with a gas fireplace and lots of natural light.
Main-Floor Living | South Park, Pittsburgh
This house was designed by the owners who had downsizing in mind. As they neared retirement, they chose to build a place close to family that had ample room for an aging parent to live with them. Most of the living space is on the main level. It was designed with a bedroom and bathroom at each side of the house for maximum privacy and an open living room, dining room, kitchen and entry at the center. One second-floor room was incorporated into the design for flexible use, such as a home office, along with space for additional storage.
Charming One-Story | Robinson Township
This one-story home was designed for a young family of three small children who desired an extremely space-efficient home. This endearing custom-built home ended up 1,188 square feet and includes three bedrooms, two baths, an eat-in kitchen, first-floor laundry, great room with gas fireplace, mudroom, and lots of natural light. There is also a finished walk-out basement, a musical storage area and a two-car garage. As part of the design process, we considered how we could eventually add an addition to the rear of the house, if the time came.
Modern Farmhouse | McDonald, PA
This custom-built modern farmhouse is in McDonald, PA – a borough located southwest of Pittsburgh. It has an open floor plan that includes a first-floor en suite, a two-story central great room, a lovely kitchen island with counter seating, and a dining room leading to the patio overlooking a wooded, private lot. The first floor also has a multi-purpose room that can be converted to an in-law suite, should there be a need. The second floor holds two generous bedrooms with private baths.
Craftsman-Style Custom Home | Venetia, PA
Completed in March 2012, this design/build custom home project was set on a lot where the existing home was demolished because it was not favorable to redesign. The new house was designed for first-floor living with aging-in-place in mind. Many unique features were integrated into this custom-built home, such as the Douglas Fir front porch, the strategic use of the sloping backyard to integrate a walk-out basement, an abundance of natural light throughout and a gorgeous kitchen of modern luxury.
